With over 15 years of extensive experience in the field, Dr. Kumar G. Sinha is a highly accomplished fellowship-trained, board-certified Orthopedic Spine Surgeon specializing in a holistic approach which entails treating patients with empathy, patience and ensuring that they have a full understanding of their condition. Dr. Sinha strongly believes that informed patients make the best decisions about their health, and this is apparent in his excellent patient outcomes.

As an attending spine surgeon at St. Joseph’s Medical Center, Morristown Medical Center, Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Rahway and St. Barnabas Hospital in Livingston, Dr. Sinha stays at the forefront of Orthopedic spine care and has vast experience in successfully treating both pediatric and adult patients via surgical and non-surgical intervention. Dr. Sinha has a reputation for taking on challenging cases such as previously failed surgeries, chronic back and neck pain, and complex spinal conditions including scoliosis and kyphosis. He is considered an expert by his colleagues in treating spine related problems.

Dr. Sinha’s commitment to inspiring and educating the next generation of orthopedic surgeons is evident in his role as a faculty member for the orthopedic surgery residency program at the Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine and director of the Spine Trauma Service. He is proud to be an Associate Professor in Orthopedic Surgery and his work has been published extensively in several notable journals. Dr. Sinha’s own journey to academic excellence began with graduating with high honors in Electrical and Computer engineering from Rutgers University. Having a strong desire to transform lives for the better, Dr. Sinha then went on to obtain his MD degree from the esteemed SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY.

At the cornerstone of his patient-centered approach, Dr. Sinha always aims to treat his patients with empathy and have his patients fully understand their condition. Realizing that a caring and supportive environment is essential for healing and recovery, Dr. Sinha always takes the time to make his patients feel like they are being heard and empathized with. He truly believes in the body’s natural ability to heal itself, and as a result is conservative when it comes to treatment solutions. He always aims to exhaust non-surgical options prior to considering surgery. He believes in a shared decision-making process with the patient and always spends ample time trying his best to identify the intricacies of each patient and their respective condition.
