With his exceptional expertise as a fellowship-trained and board-certified orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Wright specializes in orthopedic traumatology and direct anterior hip replacement surgery. He received his intensive training at the renowned Kuntscher Orthopaedic Trauma Fellowship at the University of Louisville, one of the nation’s first and busiest Level 1 trauma centers. During his time there, Dr. Wright gained comprehensive exposure to managing complex long bone and pelvic ring injuries, showcasing his mastery in caring for patients from the moment of injury to the planning of fracture stabilization and post-operative care.
While in Louisville, Dr. Wright also honed his skills as a hip replacement surgeon under the tutelage of Dr. Jonathan Yerasimides, a nationally recognized authority in direct anterior approach total-hip replacement and one of the busiest surgeons in the field. Driven by a passion for innovation and minimally invasive techniques, Dr. Wright specializes in less-invasive direct anterior total hip replacement using the MAKO Robotic Navigation System. This technique allows for less trauma to the muscles surrounding the hip joint thereby facilitating a faster recovery and ensuring precise implant positioning for optimal outcomes.
Dr. Wright’s educational journey encompasses prestigious institutions that have shaped his outstanding career. He completed his residency training in orthopedic surgery at Seton Hall University, where he distinguished himself as Chief Resident. His medical degree was earned at Rutgers University-New Jersey Medical School, building a solid foundation for his exceptional clinical skills. Prior to medical school, Dr. Wright graduated magna cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania, where he excelled both academically and athletically as a four-year varsity wrestler, representing one of the country’s premier athletic and academic institutions.
In addition to his work at OrthoEast, Dr. Wright serves as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at Seton Hall University, actively contributing to the education and training of aspiring orthopedic surgeons. This commitment to stay active in resident education ensures that he remains at the forefront of orthopedic research and technology, bringing the latest advancements to his patients.
